Pregnancy is a unique time for a mother and her baby. When mom is eating for two, it is vitally important she chooses the kinds of food that adequately support both her and her little one.
After all, a baby’s body is built on the foundation the mother provides during all of the phases of pregnancy- pre-conception, pregnancy, and breastfeeding. Therefore, if she is consuming whole, nourishing foods, the body has an entire tool kit necessary for a baby to properly develop. If the diet is lacking nutrients (or filled with toxic substances), the baby’s body will not grow to its fullest potential.
